The Seattle Pipe Trades wanted their own space separate from the existing training facility, but connected with it. The addition was to represent the UA 32 on its interior. Since the union is for the pipe trades, the interior design concept is based on the idea of snaking pipes and industrial elements throughout, and incorporates materials that can stand up to abuse, yet have a modern but lasting feel to them - another prominent requirement.
